Hyderabad Rains Cross 88 mm, Likely to Hit 100 mm

Parts of Hyderabad witnessed intense rainfall on Thursday, with Hayathnagar topping the charts at 88 mm by 4 p.m., according to the Telangana Development Planning Society.
Hayathnagar circle reported the highest rainfall, followed by Defence Colony Community Hall in the same area with 82.3 mm. Other nearby locations such as Prashanth Nagar in Vanasthalipuram logged 30 mm, Model Market in Vansathalipuram 24 mm, and South Hastinapuram Community Hall 18.3 mm.
Madhapur recorded 14.8 mm. Bandlaguda in Uppal also saw 14 mm of showers. Rainfall was scattered across Serilingampally, with Hafeezpet receiving 11.8 mm, Khajaguda 11 mm, University of Hyderabad 10 mm, and Madhapur 8.5 mm. In Hyderabad district, Borabanda reported 9.8 mm. Allapur in Kukatpally recorded the lowest at 7.5 mm.
Meteorological updates indicate that Hayathnagar, Vanasthalipuram, and Kuntloor are likely to cross 100 mm of rainfall if showers continue through the evening. Severe thunderstorms are forecast in LB Nagar, Nagole, Boduppal, Nacharam, Mallapur, Kapra, Moula Ali, ECIL, and Nagaram over the next two hours.
Other areas of the city are expected to experience moderate rains for at least an hour, officials said.
